Every fall, when the air turns crisp and cozy, I love bringing together the warm flavors of the season into one beautiful spread. A Fall Charcuterie Board is my favorite way to do that. It feels festive but effortless, perfect for gatherings when you want to impress without spending all day in the kitchen.

The mix of creamy brie, spiced pumpkin butter, crisp apples, and salty meats creates a balanced blend of sweet and savory. It’s a taste of autumn on every corner of the board and it always brings people together.

A Cozy Autumn Gathering

A fall board instantly feels inviting with its warm colors, candlelight, and familiar ingredients. It fits any kind of get-together, from small family snacks to a Thanksgiving appetizer hour. Every piece of this board feels comforting and homey, made for slow moments with good company.

How to Make a Fall Charcuterie Board

Place the brie in the center of your board to serve as the main focal point. Spoon pumpkin butter generously on top and sprinkle a few pepitas for color and crunch. I like using a cheese knife here to swirl the pumpkin butter because it gives the brie a rustic, inviting look and the narrow blade keeps edges neat.

Fan out crackers to one side of the brie and ruffle salami slices along the opposite edge. Folding each piece in half and then again before arranging creates a pretty ribbon effect that holds its shape. Below the salami, roll prosciutto slices around mild cheese sticks for easy bite-sized pairings. A small paring knife helps square off the cheese ends for cleaner rolls.

Place brie in the center, top with pumpkin butter and pepitas, then arrange crackers, salami ribbons, and prosciutto-wrapped.

Set a small bowl or jar of caramel sauce near one corner and place the apple slices beside it for dipping. Add more crackers around the brie to frame it. Nestle a bunch of grapes and a pile of blackberries along the edges. Line one side with cornichons to add a bright, tangy contrast to all the creamy elements. I reach for a set of small tongs for this step because they help tuck pieces into tight spots without disturbing the layout.

Place caramel sauce with apple slices for dipping, then add grapes, blackberries, cornichons, and extra crackers around the brie.

Continue filling the board with your remaining cheeses, fruits, and snacks. Scatter cheddar and white cheese cubes in open spaces, then add raspberries or clementine segments for color pops. Keep your clusters close together to make the board look full. A rimmed wooden board helps corral small items and gives everything a finished look.

Fill gaps with cheese cubes, fruits, and snacks, keeping clusters close for a full, colorful look.

Finish with pistachios and a few maple leaf cookies to bring in extra texture and a touch of sweetness. Add pear slices, a sprinkle of pomegranate arils, and fresh rosemary sprigs for a fragrant touch. Let the brie rest at room temperature for about 20 to 30 minutes before serving, which softens it to the perfect spreading texture. Don’t worry if the pumpkin butter drips a bit; a casual, abundant look is part of the charm.

Add nuts, cookies, fruit, and rosemary for texture and aroma, then let the brie soften for 20–30 minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions

Serve as the centerpiece for autumn gatherings with warm apple cider, mulled wine, or sparkling water with rosemary sprigs. For a polished finish, drizzle a little caramel over the fruit right before serving. Feeding a crowd? Double the ingredients and use a large wooden tray or parchment-lined sheet pan to create a layered, generous display.

Storage Tips

Refrigerate meats, cheeses, and fruit in airtight containers and enjoy within 2 to 3 days. Keep crackers, cookies, and nuts in sealed jars or bags at room temperature so they stay crisp. Pumpkin butter and caramel sauce can be refrigerated for up to a week, or follow the label if store-bought. To prep ahead, slice fruits and cheeses the night before and assemble just before serving for the freshest color and texture.
