Toasted bread slices topped with spaghetti, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese, garnished with fresh parsley. A creative and cheesy twist on classic spaghetti, served open-faced and oven-baked.

Spaghetti Bread

Spaghetti Bread brings together the heartiness of spaghetti with the crunch of garlic bread. Growing up in the South, comfort food was always at the center of family gatherings, and nothing beat a warm, cheesy dish fresh from the oven.

  • Large pot
  • Strainer/Colander
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Pastry Brush
  • Cheese grater
  • Tongs or Large Spoon
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 jars spaghetti sauce 24 ounces each
  • 4 sub rolls cut in half lengthwise
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese grated
  • Parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  • Crumble the ground beef into a medium skillet. Cook over medium heat until fully browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Pour 2 cups of spaghetti sauce into the skillet with the cooked beef. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the garlic powder.
  • Place the sub rolls cut side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each roll with garlic butter. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While the bread toasts, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the water and return the spaghetti to the pot.
  • Pour the remaining spaghetti sauce into the pot with the cooked spaghetti. Stir well to coat the noodles evenly.
  • Spoon the meat sauce onto each toasted roll. Add a portion of spaghetti on top, then sprinkle generously with grated mozzarella cheese.
  • Place the assembled spaghetti bread back into the oven. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted.
  • Top with fresh parsley if you like. Serve hot and enjoy!
