Equipment

  • Knife or Dough Cutter
  • Rolling Surface
  • Heavy Pot or Deep Fryer
  • Deep Fry Thermometer
  • Slotted Spoon or Tongs
  • Cooling Rack or Paper Towels
  • Shallow Bowl or Plate
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Spoon or Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 can buttermilk Pillsbury Grands biscuit dough 8 biscuits
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Chocolate Dipping Sauce:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  • Open the biscuit dough package and separate the biscuits. Cut each biscuit into four equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball using your hands.
  • In a large heavy pot, pour vegetable oil to a depth of about one inch. Place the pot over medium-high heat and let the oil reach 350°F.
  • Carefully drop a few dough balls into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry each batch for 2-3 minutes, turning them occasionally so they cook evenly on all sides.
  • Once golden brown, remove the donut holes from the oil using a slotted spoon. Place them on a paper towel-lined plate or cooling rack to drain any excess oil. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
  • In a shallow bowl or plate, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll each warm donut hole in the sugar mixture until fully coated.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy whipping cream. Microwave on high for 30-45 seconds. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  • Serve the warm donut holes with the chocolate dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy them fresh for the best taste!
