Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 3 ½ cups flour plus more for dusting
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 1 large egg

Cinnamon filling

  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ¼ cup butter softened

Cream cheese frosting

  • 3 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 refrigerated 9-inch pie crust

Instructions
 

Dough preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 200°F. In a large bowl, mix flour and yeast.
  • Heat milk, sugar, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the flour and yeast. Stir until a dough ball forms.
  • Mix in the egg. If dough feels sticky, add 2 tablespoons of flour.
  • Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Cinnamon filling preparation

  • Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch in a small bowl.

Assemble rolls

  • Lightly flour your surface. Roll out the dough to a 12x16-inch rectangle. Trim edges if needed.
  • Spread softened butter over the dough evenly.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture evenly across the buttered dough.
  • Slice the dough into 8 even strips.

Assemble pie

  • Place the refrigerated pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan. Flute the edges if desired.
  • Roll each strip into a cinnamon roll shape. Arrange them in the pie crust.

Proof and bake

  • Turn off the oven. Cover the pie with foil and place it in the oven for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil, preheat the oven to 350°F, and bake the pie for 25 minutes until golden brown.

Frosting and serve

  • Beat cream cheese, butter, vanilla, milk, and powdered sugar with an electric mixer until smooth.
  • Spread frosting over the slightly cooled pie.
  • Slice and enjoy!
