Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets about 1 large head of broccoli
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 and half cups cream of mushroom soup

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish (8x8 inches works well) with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • If using fresh broccoli, wash it thoroughly and cut it into small florets. Steam the broccoli for 5-7 minutes until tender but still vibrant green. If using frozen broccoli, cook according to the package instructions and drain any excess water.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the steamed broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, and cream of mushroom soup. Stir until the broccoli is evenly coated, and the cheese is distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly with a spatula, ensuring the top is level for even baking.
  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a golden brown top, you can switch to the broil setting for the last 2-3 minutes, but keep a close eye to avoid burning.
  • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve as a standalone dish or pair it with roasted chicken, pork chops, or any Southern classic for a complete meal.
